Invisalign in Melbourne typically costs $2,500–$9,500 in 2026. Smile Solutions in the CBD lists Express at $2,500–$4,500, Lite at $4,000–$6,000 and Comprehensive at $6,500–$9,500; suburban groups such as The Smile Collective publish $4,500–$9,500. Melbourne has more published price lists than any other city, which makes comparing quotes easier.
Melbourne is unusual among Australian cities in that many practices publish full Invisalign price lists, tier by tier. That makes it the easiest capital in which to benchmark a quote. It also means the ranges below are tighter and better evidenced than for most cities.
The short version: Melbourne general dentists cluster at $2,500–$5,000 for Express, $4,000–$7,000 for Lite, $5,500–$7,500 for Moderate and $6,500–$9,500 for Comprehensive. For national context and a city comparison, see our Invisalign cost guide.
The table shows published prices from six Melbourne practices and one independent aggregator, checked in November 2026. Where a practice groups Express and Lite together, we show the combined band.

Smile Solutions, a large CBD practice with specialist orthodontists on staff, publishes the lowest Express floor ($2,500) and a Comprehensive ceiling of $9,500. Its separate FAQ page quotes a whole-of-practice range of $4,900–$11,800, which reflects that complex specialist cases sit above the general table. Gorgeous Smiles, also in the CBD, lists Express/Go from $3,500 and Comprehensive to $9,500.
Suburban groups are not cheaper by default. Aesthetik Dental (Highpoint, Eastland, South Melbourne) and The Smile Collective (Greensborough to Mornington) both publish $4,500–$9,500, with Express starting higher than the CBD practices. Richmond & Springvale Dental Group and Tooth Heaven in Kensington list the lowest Comprehensive ceilings at $9,000.
Aesthetik Dental publishes a complete moderate-case example: aligners $5,500–$6,500, records $300–$500, two refinement rounds and four Vivera retainer sets, landing at about $6,500 all-inclusive, or $6,650 if retainers are billed separately. Set that against Smile Solutions’ Moderate range of $5,500–$7,500 and Gorgeous Smiles’ Lite at $4,500–$6,950, and a Melbourne quote of $6,000–$7,000 for a moderate case sits squarely in the published middle.
Less than you might expect. The published data shows CBD and suburban Comprehensive prices overlapping almost completely at $6,500–$9,500. Where the CBD does differ is at the top end, where specialist-led practices treat harder cases and charge accordingly, and at the bottom, where high-volume CBD providers can offer Express from $2,500.
What matters more is who treats you. Only a dentist registered with AHPRA as a specialist orthodontist can use the title, and specialist fees for complex bite cases are generally higher than general dentist fees for cosmetic alignment. For a crowded lower front or a gap, a general dentist experienced in Invisalign is appropriate. For an overbite or jaw discrepancy, see a specialist. Our Melbourne orthodontist directory lists registered specialists by region.
Melbourne practices are relatively transparent about inclusions. Smile Solutions says its prices typically include initial records (iTero scan, photos and X-rays if needed), the ClinCheck plan, all aligners, attachments, interproximal reduction, usually one set of Vivera retainers and reviews every 6–8 weeks. Gorgeous Smiles bundles the consultation, scan, all aligners, in-warranty refinements, all progress visits and a first set of Vivera retainers.
Aesthetik Dental publishes the most detailed breakdown: records $300–$500, Vivera retainers $0–$800 for a set of four, extra refinement rounds $300–$800 each, and an all-inclusive moderate case of about $6,500. The Smile Collective notes that refinements and retainers are included in some quotes and not others. Smile Solutions adds that a quote excluding retainers can add $500–$800.
So when two Melbourne quotes differ by $800, check whether one excludes retainers or caps refinements before assuming it is cheaper.
Invisalign is claimed under orthodontics on extras cover, generally after a 12-month waiting period. Finder estimates a mid-range to comprehensive policy returns about $600–$800 a year; Aesthetik Dental tells patients orthodontic extras typically contribute $1,000–$3,000 over a course, subject to lifetime limits. Neither is a guarantee. Check your policy for the orthodontic annual and lifetime limit, and ask whether benefits are paid per year or per course, which affects how a staged payment plan is best timed.
Payment plans are standard. Aesthetik quotes roughly $200–$400 a month over 18–24 months, and Smile Solutions and Gorgeous Smiles both offer interest-free plans. Smile Solutions also publishes a price-match guarantee against lower written quotes from other Blue Diamond providers in Melbourne, so a second quote has direct value. See our payment plans guide before signing.
Your quote minus what your fund pays, per week.
If aligners are not right for you, Melbourne has a large pool of specialist orthodontists offering braces. See Invisalign vs braces, our braces cost guide, or the Melbourne dentist directory to start with a general check-up.
Published 2026 Melbourne prices run from $2,500 for Express at Smile Solutions in the CBD to $9,500 for Comprehensive treatment at most practices. Lite is typically $4,000–$7,000 and Moderate $5,500–$7,500. Complex specialist cases can exceed this; Smile Solutions quotes a whole-practice range up to $11,800. All figures are indicative until you have a scan and written quote.
The published data does not show a cheap suburb. CBD practices list the lowest Express floors ($2,500–$3,500) because of high case volumes, while Comprehensive prices overlap at $6,500–$9,500 across the CBD, inner north, east and bayside. Price differences come from the package and the practitioner, not the postcode, so compare quotes for the same package.
It can be claimed under orthodontics on extras cover, usually after a 12-month waiting period. Finder estimates mid to comprehensive policies return about $600–$800 a year, and practices commonly cite lifetime orthodontic limits of $1,000–$3,000. The rebate is a contribution, not full cover. Check your policy's orthodontic limit before starting treatment.
Often, but not always. Smile Solutions and Gorgeous Smiles bundle a first set of Vivera retainers. Aesthetik Dental lists retainers at $0–$800 depending on the package, and The Smile Collective says some quotes include them and others do not. Smile Solutions estimates separate retainers at $500–$800, so confirm in writing before comparing quotes.
Not for mild to moderate crowding or spacing; an experienced general dentist is appropriate and usually cheaper. For bite correction, extractions or anything a dentist describes as complex, see an AHPRA-registered specialist orthodontist. Only practitioners on the specialist register may use the title orthodontist, so check the register rather than the practice name.
